Divine Intervention

My sweet Melissa,

Did I get your attention? You even had to buy an alarm clock just for me to get through to you! I love how much you care for others and give them your attention, but I want your attention too. I have so much to tell you.

Melissa, do you realize how serious I am about protecting you from choices that would hurt you? I am your shield, your protector-no one else, and certainly not your phone. When you didn’t have your phone, did you notice that I was the only one you could turn to? I know it frightened you at first, but you see now that no matter what happens, I am always with you. I am always available to help, to guide you.

I want you to trust that you can depend on me more than anything-even more than your phone, as funny as that sounds. I am working miracles all the time, but you’ll only notice them when you’re aware of me. Melissa, I will always be with you. Always.

Love God

One night, I was about to call someone I kept going back to because I felt security and comfort, even though I knew deep down it wasn’t where God wanted me. As I reached for my phone, it fell into the washing machine and broke. Suddenly, I had no phone and no alarm clock for work the next morning. I had to drive out late at night to buy an alarm clock, and with no phone for directions, I had to rely completely on God to guide me home. It was in that moment that I realized how much God was protecting me-not just from a bad decision, but also from the fear and uncertainty I felt without my phone. He is always there, guiding and protecting us, even when we don’t see it right away.

Have you ever been in a situation where it felt like God was closing a door, but it was really for your protection? Can you look back now and see His hand in it?

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” – Isaiah 41:10
