Through the Door of Faith

My sweet Melissa,

Don’t look back. I’ve been teaching and preparing you to get where you are now, and I don’t want you to dwell on the past. It’s time to move forward. It’s time to commit all of yourself to the path in front of you. You’ve known what is familiar, but now it’s time to step forward into the door marked “unknown.” Take that step of faith, take that risk. I’ll be with you, guiding you.

Melissa, there’s so much ahead of you, but I can’t give it to you until you choose your future over your past. Will you choose it? Will you trust me? Will you embrace the uncomfortable over the comfortable? I know you will, and I know you’ve already chosen to walk through the door of the unknown. Take a leap of faith and watch what I do.

Love, God

To anyone reading this letter, I want to encourage you to take that step of faith, even when it feels uncertain or uncomfortable. I know firsthand how hard it can be to let go of the past. For a long time, I was stuck looking back-whether it was at past struggles, mistakes, or even longing for better times that I thought were behind me. I would compare my present to what had been, and it left me feeling trapped.

But I learned that focusing on the past kept me from the future God had for me. It wasn’t until I chose to release my past and fill my mind with God’s promises that I could finally move forward. It’s not always easy, and I still struggle with it sometimes. But I want to encourage you-look to Jesus, and He will help you move forward. Our past can teach us, but it shouldn’t hold us back from the new things God wants to do. Trust Him with your future and watch what He can do.

So, what are you holding onto from your past that might be keeping you from stepping into the future God has for you?

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” – Isaiah 43:18-19
