Stepping Out in Faith

My sweet Melissa,

I’m so pleased you had fun tonight at the Friendsgiving. It brings me joy to see you happy, smiling, and truly enjoying yourself. I know you realized you were likely the only one at the table with a relationship with me, but it fills my heart that you can love all people, regardless of their feelings toward me.

I admire your ability to embrace potentially uncomfortable situations. You chose to step out in faith and make the decision to attend, and that speaks volumes about who you are. I love how you connect with everyone around you while remaining strong in your identity as my daughter. Thank you for saying yes to me. When you say yes, it allows me to move more powerfully in your life. As you move, I move.

Love, God

As you read this letter, I want to encourage you to embrace opportunities that may feel uncomfortable. After I started my relationship with Jesus, I felt profound change inside, even though I looked the same on the outside. When COVID hit, I found myself in isolation for about a year. Returning to work after that time was challenging. I was nervous about sharing my faith with clients who didn’t know this side of me. Then, one of my clients invited me to a Friendsgiving. I felt unsure but decided to go anyway. That evening turned out to be amazing! I was able to connect, laugh, and love those around me, despite knowing many didn’t share my faith.

I learned that stepping out in faith, even when it feels uncomfortable, can lead to beautiful moments of connection and joy. So, I encourage you-if you feel led to step into a situation that seems daunting, trust that God will be with you. You might just find incredible blessings on the other side. What opportunities are you hesitating to embrace because of fear or uncertainty?
