Finding Yourself in Service

My sweet Melissa,

The key to unlocking and revealing who you truly are lies in serving. Look up the word servant and tell me what you find. It means devoted and helpful follower or supporter. My son, Jesus, humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, as it says in Philippians 2:8. He emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant.

Melissa, count others as more significant than yourself and consider their interests alongside your own. Empty yourself completely-die to yourself-so I can fill you fully with My Spirit. You don’t need to overthink it. Just start serving and let your focus be on that in everything you do.

Love, God

If you’re feeling lost or unsure of your purpose, remember that clarity comes through action. I’ve often asked God to show me what He wants me to do, but I realized my focus was mostly on myself. It wasn’t until I started serving others that I began to see glimpses of my purpose. It took time to understand that God wants us to give before revealing our paths. You don’t need all the answers-just take that first step. What can you give today to start uncovering who you truly are?

“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests but also to the interests of others.” – Philippians 2:3-4
